This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
With your help, my students can learn about the significance of water and the role it plays in our environment and personal lives. Learning about the earth and the need to use less plastic is a lesson we are working on. My intention is to develop an activity to get students thinking about the many ways that people use freshwater, and how we can conserve this precious and fundamental natural resource. We will discuss issues related to clean water availability, analyze water-use data, and start to think about how they consume and can conserve water. All with the idea of replacing plastic water bottles with tumblers.
Using these tumblers will be a concrete way of measuring not only drinking water but also saving the plastic that would've been used with ordinary water bottles.
