Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This hands-on project will allow students to see the benefits of renewable energy. A key concept as Earth Day approaches. Students will also learn about using the engineering process. This is an important component of S.T.E.M.

The sun has produced energy for billions of years!

This means solar energy has been used by people for hundreds of years to cook food, and keep warm. Today, it is also used to create electricity. Rather than counting on fossil fuels for our main sources of energy solar energy can be used. Solar cells turn light from the sun into electricity. New research shows that, in the long run, renewable energy is more cost-effective than non-renewable energy. The cost of renewable energy is declining so it will be a cheaper source of energy than traditional fossil fuels. Students will observe how renewable energy works with their models. Students will use these kits to create models that move without the use of batteries. The books will be added to our class library.
