My Project

Supporting this project supports not only science but literacy as well! As a science teacher, I have come across a couple of realities. First, many of our students don't think they like science but learn they love it because it is a part of their everyday lives; the more hands-on your lesson is, the better. The second attitude I find in elementary school is the idea that students don't think they like to read. When I find these students, I ask them if they have ever tried non-fiction books with beautiful images and fascinating facts that apply to them every day. Often, children have not explored those books and find empowerment as they learn more about the world around them. Our class library would benefit from diversity in text genres and you can help us do that.

My students are excited learners who can benefit from engaging material and supplies to become the scientists our world needs.

Supporting this project will help our students become avid learners, excited to learn more and more about our world and how we can make positive change.
