My Project

In my third grade classroom, my students earn money to use at the end of each week at our class store. Students must behave, follow directions, transition quietly, walk down the hall quietly, etc.Students must also work hard during class and ask questions or ask for help. This behavior and academic resilience is rewarded with coins.

Students are responsible to keep track of and save their money.

Sometimes students lose money for breaking rules or choosing not to follow directions.

At the end of each week, I open the store and students are able to use their coins to purchase things or save their money.

This is a great activity for students to learn financial literacy! I love watching them count and be responsible for their money. It also is a great lesson for those students who have not behaved or followed directions.
