My Students

My students are part of a very small school community in a very rural area; we are also considered a high-poverty school. Our school has an awesome, small community atmosphere. We care about each other and it is common to hear students asking teachers about their weekend or how their family is and vice versa. My students are hard-working, inquisitive and love to learn. They strive to do their very best everyday. One of the best things about our school is our amazing students!

My Project

The much teased garden project is getting closer to becoming a reality. Working in partnership with the Industrial Arts department, we hope to start doing some planting in spring. The biology class will be responsible for planting and that is where this project is based.

My students need basic gardening tools to plant our garden in spring.

Our plan for the next few years is to get the garden going and start using the space as an outdoor lab and classroom. Students will learn the process of planting, caring for and harvesting vegetables. They will also be learning how to plan and build basic garden structures through the cross-curricular project with the Industrial Arts department.
