This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are so eager to learn and financial literacy is such an important part of learning for them. They currently have a reward system in place where they earn money for specific behaviors. This money can be cashed in for a prize. However I the prizes I currently have are not things that are of really high interest to them. I would like them to have more high-interest prizes to make learning about financial literacy fun.
Having prizes like poppits, bubble erasers, animal building blocks, animal erasers, phonics spinning cubes, and so many wonderful prizes, and students will also be able to earn time at a Fundations center with the Fundations cards and at a Lego center with the Lego Bins so they can learn that both time and items have value.
It's important they learn from an early age about financial literacy and how to save and spend money. By having different types of prizes worth different amounts they will have to make choices about when and how to spend their class money. Please support them as they learn about financial literacy.
