My Project
The use of art and other sensory activities is very important to our special education preschool students (ages 3-5). The water table will help students, who have various developmental delays, to develop their five senses and give them the chance to explore their environment. The sensory water toys will help the students with their problem solving and sharing skills. It will also help students to explore water and other things in nature.
By donating to our project, you will give our youngest special education learners the hands-on opportunities they need to explore, learn and succeed.
The art and craft supplies/equipment will be used to give the three-five-year-old students in our classroom the opportunity to investigate their world using their five senses. They will use the Dot-Daubers to stamp out their names and color their art. They will be able to use their imaginations and the paint holders to choose the colors they want to create their masterpieces. The other art supplies will be used to accent their projects or to create new work.
I've also asked for some sensory learning centers that address early learning skills that my young learners need to develop in order to help them succeed as they move on to kindergarten and throughout their lives. The building center will help students learn to follow directions and to use their imaginations while the early math and language learner skills centers will help them learn about things that go together and how to sort by attributes. My students already show a curiosity and passion for learning, and this project will only help enrich their experiences.
