it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are sweet, curious, and enthusiastic preschoolers who qualify for special education services due to a diagnosis of autism and/or fine motor delays, gross motor delays, and/or sensory processing differences. All of my students are currently receiving special education services through distance learning due to COVID-19 school closure.
My Project
Wow! This past year has been very challenging! Never did I think I would be providing early intervention occupational therapy services via Zoom! One huge hurdle in providing virtual occupational therapy to preschoolers is acquiring and getting all the much-needed puppets, balls, toys, play dough supplies, and painting supplies to my students in order for them to work on their fine motor and gross motor skills. This DonorsChoose project will ensure my students have all the multisensory supplies needed during our virtual sessions until we can safely return back to in-person school. Additionally, some of these supplies will help me keep the children's attention and interest during our sessions, because let's face it, computers just don't compare to in-person interactions.
Your donations will make such a difference in the lives of my preschool students and will help them meet their occupational therapy goals, but most of all, it will help them have fun and learn through playing during this difficult and strange time of school closure.
