Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my Science classes are mostly from diverse under represented backgrounds that need to see people of their race and ethnicity represented in Science.

My goal is to provide my students with racially equitable representations of Scientists that have paved the way for all future generations in this subject area.

The books will provide new understanding of Scientists in the past and the materials will give the students opportunities to design and construct a structure that represents what they are learning, such as buildings, bridges or rockets.

In doing so, my young learners will have an understanding of what Scientists do, see themselves in the Scientists that began the hard work of engineering and inventing, and allow them opportunities to create their own inventions.
