This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All my students come from economically disadvantaged families. Unfortunately, many of them cannot afford basic school supplies. Many of their families have lost their jobs amid the pandemic. My students come from very humble but honest backgrounds. With the new age of COVID-19, it is causing us teachers to take inventory of how students and teachers will adapt to new classroom norms. Our first day of school is September 8th; we are going to teach virtually, and then after 4 weeks, we are going back to face to face instruction.
My Project
The items that I am requesting will ensure that all students have their own materials to use if/when we transition to face-to-face instruction from distance learning. Students can utilize their own earbuds without having to share or come in contact with others' things. Due to the financial constraints that our demographic of parents are under, they will not be able to have some of these basic necessities otherwise. These supplies will be used daily in all classes. These earbuds will also encourage our students to go back to school knowing that we care about them and their education!
