My students are new to this country and come here with little or no English. The most important part of preparing them for life here is to help them improve their speaking and listening skills in English. This means they need to practice, practice, practice!
My students MUST practice speaking and understanding spoken English to be able to succeed in their other classes, thrive in the workforce, and participate as good citizens of this country.
These earbuds with microphones will help them do this. With these devices, students will be able to practice speaking and recording themselves. They will also be able to listen to spoken English and respond. This individual practice is crucial to their progress because, with only an hour per day of my class, each one does not have a chance to speak much during class time. They also don't always feel comfortable speaking in front of their peers. Having these earbuds will allow them to practice on their own in class and work on their English at home. With your help, my students will be able to gain these essential English skills much faster.
