This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My scholars are enthusiastic, compassionate, inquisitive 8-9 year old children who love to learn! These scholars are extremely motivated and take ownership and pride in their education! They are excelling academically and show discipline to reach their goals.
During an unprecedented year of remote learning, these scholars are continually and consistently making the choice to show up, be present, and learn!
100% of my students are on free or reduced lunch, and yet, they are rich with spirit in spite of the challenges they face. Their positive attitudes and willingness to learn and grow continually inspires me as a teacher. It is my goal to provide my scholars with the high-quality education that they deserve to succeed to and through college!
During remote learning, headphones have become an essential resource needed to participate fully in class. These headphones will be used daily by each scholar to listen during class and participate in the discussion, without distraction. Often, scholars are unable to hear me clearly or I am unable to hear their responses.
To maximize instruction and learning, scholars need these headphones since they will reduce outside noise, and allow them to hear clearly and actively discuss their thinking with their peers.
Remote learning has presented many challenges, but my scholars remain dedicated and focused. These headphones will help mitigate hearing and speaking issues and improve day to day instruction. Our Northwestern homeroom is dedicated to being exceptional third-grade scholars, and these headphones will allow us to be the best scholars we can be!
