The students who are in my classroom live in a very poor area of the inner city. Our school is a Title I school, so all of our students qualify for free lunches. Keeping these hardships in mind, our students and parents are some of the most wonderful people I have ever worked with.
They are caring and full of life.
For some of my students, I am the only thing that remains constant in their lives. A lot of my students come from shelters or single-parent families with lots of siblings. Although my school is a Title I school, I have never felt more loved than I do with the students I teach, or more rewarded.
Please help give my students earbuds for at home learning. Since we are starting virtual this year, it is very important for our students to find a quiet space to focus. However, many students do not have this accessibility, so giving each students their own earbuds is a great compromise. Students will then be able to focus on what is being taught to them, and the task at hand. Also, we will use the various books listed to teach about these different times in order to teach different classroom management techniques.
