Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students at OSES desperately need your help in keeping up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in science. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. Students in my classroom, with this project, will close the achievement gap. It will also help students learn how to structure a science experiment. This project will keep my students accountable through the use of the day planners. The thing that makes OSES students special is the fact that even though the students are at a Title I school, they have the work ethic and the hunger for knowledge of their grade level peers that I have met.

The first opportunity in this project where my students will be able to close the learning gap will be with their STEAM science notebooks, which will be an opportunity for me to successfully model for my fourth grade students how to fill out and pick clock partners.

These notebooks will also allow me to demonstrate how to organize notes and set up science experiments from start to finish. I will also be checking the notebooks, constantly so that I can hopefully be able to successfully support them.

With your help the third grade students this year will have the opportunity to use and learn how to successfully navigate a school year with a day planner. These planners will be used every single day. These planners will be another opportunity for my students to show growth from the beginning of the school year to the end. I will be asking every student to write down their homework. I will also be checking planners every single day.
