My Students

My kindergarten kiddos are the most enthusiastic people you will ever meet. They are imaginative, curious, and just plain funny. The majority of my kindergarten kiddos are in dire need of social and motor skills. They each have diverse abilities, backgrounds, and experiences. Though their personalities are very different, they all share a love for learning as I do and their smiles can light up the darkest room! I wish everyone could see what I see when they meet my students.

I see strong, inquisitive children who have been through more than I have in my 30 years of living in just 5 or 6 short years.

I praise these children for their strength, positivity, and their overpowering love for learning.

My Project

Imagine trying to listen to your favorite song or podcast with headphones that hurt your ears? My students have suffered through the past 3 months with unreliable headphones that are either too tight or too loose. My kids would love to have comfortable, reliable headphones to enhance learning in our classroom.

My students have difficulty focusing on what they are learning because they are bothered by the fit of the headphones or they become stressed because of the lack of sound they can hear.

These new Lakeshore headphones will enhance my students' learning because they will be able to hear what they are learning without the muffled sounds and they will not have to worry about them being too big or too small because these headphones are made to fit a variety of head shapes. These headphones are durable and will be able to withstand the normal wear and tear of my kindergarten kids.

The Lakeshore Store and Charge Tablet Station will be a great addition to our classroom because my students will be able to independently place their iPad and headphones in a safe spot after each use. Instead of having to take our iPads to a different room to charge, we will be able to charge them in our own classroom which will decrease the chance of students not being able to use it for learning due to a dead battery. I will also be able to assign a student with the job of being responsible for our iPads, which will allow a student to feel ownership . My students LOVE to do things on their own, so I know this will be a big deal in my classroom.
