I have a wonderful class full of eager 3rd grade learners.
They love school, especially reading. They are bubbly, energetic, and full of spunk. Most of my students come from low to middle income homes and with cuts to funding there is not money in our budgets for anything outside of basic supplies.
My Project
Students will enjoy using their comfy pillows, organizers and other reading corner materials every day. Currently, they read at their desks or on the hard floor. This project will enable them to read in comfort and increase their stamina for reading. These items will also increase the "homey" feeling of the classroom and make it a more warm and inviting place to be. I am a strong believer in the importance of creating a comfortable environment for learning. This project will make that happen.
This project will make reading much more comfortable and enjoyable for my students each day.
It will make our classroom bright and inviting. Currently, students read at their desks or on the hard floor, so they would love to have reading pillows to make it much more comfortable. They also really need book bins. They have dollar store baskets right now that break, tip over, and don't even fit most of their books. I can't wait to see the excitement on my students' faces if this project is funded.
