My students need the blocks, tools, engineering kits and doll house for our next unit of study- Where People Live. Students will use these materials to participate in STEM activities, while building play and social skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Arak's classroom raised $595

My Students
The three year old students in my class come from low-income homes and face a range of challenges both at home and in their community. Despite challenges outside the classroom, they are enthusiastic learners that are enthusiastic, creative, and energetic.
My students are curious investigators, eager to learn and explore through hands on activities and experiences.
They learn through play and love to construct with blocks, build with manipulatives, create with art, and observe, measure, and compare with math and science materials.
My Project
As these 3 year old early learners begin to explore the world around them and their own developing abilities, they love to investigate their environment and discover new things they can do. The students are learning about where people live and are beginning to build their own houses, but we need enough materials for everyone to take part in the engineering fun! The earthquake simulation and the other blocks help develop their fine motor skills as they work to stack, build and put together. They are using problem solving skills to discover how to make bigger, taller, and stronger buildings. They are representing the buildings they see in their community, which helps them learn about the world around them. They are developing their language and social skills and math and science vocabulary as they talk to peers and work together, discuss their actions, and describe and compare the shape and sizes of the materials and constructions. The children love playing with our dollhouse, but it is small, old and broken. A new, larger dollhouse will rejuvenate our pretend play and help us discuss parts of a house.
Your generous donation to our 3K classroom will give students the opportunity to become engineers, scientists, mathematicians, community workers, and most of all - friends.
This will change our students' lives for the better because they will love school and feel success at an early age - having fun while learning!
