Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first graders are very eager writers. They love to write and draw. This year we are very limited to writing paper and copies. They also are great artists that enjoy illustrating their writing. They get more motivated when they are able to draw with crayons that are not dull.
My first grade students are all English language learners.
Many of them are economically challenged and may lack home support. Despite their disadvantages, they come to school everyday eager to learn. One subject they especially enjoy is writing. They love to write about everything and anything. They would really enjoy writing journals.
My Project
These journals, journal prompts, and crayons are exactly what my students need. They enjoy writing and illustrating their work. They will become better writers with the help of the writing prompts. They will have unlimited writing space with these writing journals.
My students will really enjoy having their own journal that they may later look back at and be able to improve and reflect on their writing.
This will help them become better writers and encourage them to write more.
