Help me give my students additional art and gym options to encourage participation with fun activities. I teach at an art and design school of 80, where I teach both art and physical education in a small space.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Our school hosts a small artistic environment for the most enthusiastic students. The listed art supplies will help students complete their final art projects for the school year. In art class, students learn multiple mediums of expression to share their creativity and perspective. For their final project, students get to choose their focus. At our Academy, we teach our students the business of art and foundational art skills in various art. Most recently students have expressed an interest in starting their businesses in multiple areas of design. The 3D Printer and resin will assist with replacing our current 3D printer to help students make figures and . create graphic design using the Cricut, pottery, visual arts, and candle making.
This is a small environment of 80, where teachers teach two subjects each.
My specialties are in Physical Ed and Multi-medium art. Being that we are an art-focused school, we don't have a gymnasium but there is a dedicated space for activities. Student do have access to minimum fitness equipment, some board games, an air-hockey table, and computer games. This order is a request from the students for more active options. We had a mini hoop and a Wii that were tragically broken some time before spring break and since the level of physical activity has decline. The listed gym equipment will help provide more options for youth and increase activity.
The goal of the project is meant to level up both the art class and physical education space with activities that the youth are most interested in. My students have learn an assortment of skills in self-care, tattooing (oranges), pottery, mosaic tile, painting, drawing, audio production, studio recording, fashion design, and we look to continue to find what interest in every student.
