I teach in a small, rural community. Our district is a low income district with more than half of the students receiving free and reduced lunches. Despite the challenges my students face they come to school eager to learn.
Preschool is the foundation to their educational journey.
I hold
that responsibility very close to my heart. Each child has dreams, goals, and I want my students to have a strong foundation that will help them become successful and self confident. I want them to feel safe and loved in my classroom and experience a learning and fun experience.
My Project
Books for my classroom will provide a whole new world of earning. It will provide exposure to words and letters in print, sounds, and explore retelling the story. They will also learn the parts of the book and it will also help them learn to follow along on the page left to right. Many of my students do not have books at home to look at or have them read to them.
I want students to develop a love for books and reading.
I want them to learn that a book is more than pages with pictures and letters. The book holder will keep our books nice and students will be able to find books easier.
My CD player quit working and with our new technology we are unable to play CD's. A CD player will let us add music to our classroom, listen to stories, and play along with our musical instruments.
My children are eager to learn and I want to give them every opportunity to do so.
