Help me give my students outdoor play materials such as IngleJoy Bubble Wands, Crayola Sidewalk Chalk and Paint Pens and Markers to create kindness rocks.
Learning at home looks completely different for each and every one of my students. I have students who have multiple devices to work on to students who try to check their work on iPhones to students whose parents had to go out and buy a laptop to be able to learn from a distance. I have students who have both parents at home to help with work, some with one person and some who are working their best independently while their parents are working hard from home.
In all my years of teaching, I never dreamed of teaching from a table at my house.
I've made many anchor charts, graded papers or wrote lesson plans at that table, but never actively taught there until now. I am grateful to be able to do that so that I can meet the varying needs of my students.
Though we all have differences, the coolest thing about this is that we are all in this together. My students, parents and I make an amazing team!
My Project
We are doing school in such an unfamiliar way. The students receive their lessons online, read text online, ZOOM online for instruction and submit their work online. I want to have the students step away from their device and get outside to breath in some fresh air.
These outdoor learning materials will help my students bring back some normalcy in their lives.
Every child loves playing with bubbles and chalk. I want them also to create their own kindness rock and pass it on for someone else to find. These materials may seem simple to an adult, but for a child, it can mean the world.
