This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have nine 6th grade students in a Math Resource setting whose average grade level is the equivalent to a student in grades K through 3. Now, these students are expected to learn independently and electronically. Students didn't have time to gather all of their required belongings prior to closing, and they don't have sufficient resources at home to continue learning.

NM School is an inner city public school on Chicago's northwest side-with a population of 550 students-grades six through eight.

Approximately 95 percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. 16 percent of our students have special needs.

My Project

These grade leveled workbooks will allow my students will special needs to practice math skills that they otherwise wouldn't be able to. Not all students have the capacity to engage and learn online; nor the resources to support them in doing so. Having a hard copy workbook with lessons, exercises, skills and review will help them from falling more behind than they already are and will allow me as their teacher to help them learn and review concepts without having to make them all as well, helping us all together.
