I'm desperately trying to engage my students in any way I can. They're supremely smart and intelligent students, so anything out of the ordinary sounds an alarm.
All I'm trying to do, currently, is to provide a digital environment more akin to reality than to CHEESY virtual reality.
I'm not looking to make a fortune on the tech. I'm mostly looking for a green screen, a stand, and some sort of camera or software that will help me further engage my kids. Please?
Otherwise, I'm just looking for the chance to provide them with the resources that will challenge their highly advanced thinking. A lot of that comes from the resources online from other educators. And while I can spot the best materials, I still need to pay for the right to use them.
My Project
Dystopian literature has never been more relevant. It includes all ideologies, governmental structures, and general ways of being. My students grapple with these issues daily.
The fact that our units involving these topics have been interrupted by the pandemic is all the more reason why the continued study of these topics, themes, and ideas is SO incredibly important--mostly because of age of our students and their respective frames of references.

This will certainly benefit students whose experience DOES NOT include 9/11, but WILL absolutely include the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine. The activities, lesson plans, and interactive materials that this project for a gift card from Teachers Pay Teachers will provide my students will help them to analyze the complex ideas involved in the unit and make connections to the world today. Graphic organizers, interactive texts, create-your-own dystopia activities. You name it!
