My Students

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!

When they learn something new and make a connection with real world experiences you should see the light bulbs going off.

The theme in our classroom is Washington University Huskies, which exposes our scholars to options greater than what they could image.

At our school, "All roads lead to college!"

My Project

In our classroom, we try to make education as fun and exciting as possible. This ensures that students are attentive and engaged in the lesson being presented. Using the items on this list, we will be able to create a learning environment that will increase motivation and student curiosity during everyday lessons. The buzzer will help to turn any skills review in to a fluency game that is fun and rigorous. The CVC block will allow the scholars to segment and blend word hands on. The mini globes will again allow scholars to learn about the continents, oceans, north and south pole as well as the equator hands on. I feel that all scholars will excel with more hands on activities. Being hands-on is especially important in the classroom because it allows students to engage in kinesthetic learning, and most importantly, it provides educators with a unique opportunity to enrich the minds of their students in new and engaging ways.
