This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a struggling, high needs, urban neighborhood in New York City. Our school is a warm, nurturing environment, and the children enjoy coming to school. I am currently teaching 18 lovable preschoolers who are curious, funny, loving, and eager to learn. The parents of our students are working hard to make a better life for their families and desire a stellar education for their children.
My little ones are curious, imaginative, loving, creative, honest, and cute.
The community is diverse and considerably lower income. The children I teach are all eager to learn and are enthusiastic. My classroom is comprised of children who are learning English and also with children who have different abilities.
My Project
We are in desperate need of a new vacuum cleaner for our preschool classroom. The one I have is totally broken. It actually makes the rugs in our room dirtier.
I am using a broom at the moment but it is not keeping our room clean and pleasant.
The children play, read and take naps on the carpets in our classroom so it is essential to keep them fresh and clean. The children deserve to go to school in a sanitary classroom. I promise to lock up this vacuum for safekeeping and will take good care of it so that we will have it for many years to come.
We were fortunate enough to receive two Lakeshore rugs from generous donorschoose.org donors and I feel terrible that the carpets are not being cared for properly. Thank you for reading my proposal. Please consider funding us!
