This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In the library we like to read, write, research, and complete projects!
The library is a place to take what you learned and apply your knowledge!
Our library is a makerspace for students to grow and be active learners through a hands-on curriculum.
Each morning as the students walk through the doors, many are facing struggles outside of school in their homes, as well as academically struggling in school. For some, English is not their first language, which also presents challenges. We are considered a Title I school, and there is a high population of low-income students. We put forth great effort to have the students' meet their educational goals, as well as social-emotional skills to help them cope. Through all the ups and downs the students might face, they have an open mind to learning and love to discover and explore their interests in the library. The library is a place where students and the community can come together to collaborate and learn from one another.
My Project
Normally, sharing is caring, but during these uncertain times, we can no longer have communal supplies. Students will receive their own folder to hold their work, along with a plastic Ziploc bag for their supplies. Individual sets of crayons, glue, scissors, and pencils will be distributed to students to use remotely and in school. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will be used to provide students with their own resources to support and enrich learning. This will help ensure safety for all, along with a comfortable setting to promote learning.
