it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year, I will be teaching a 4/5 class at a Title I school. My students are in need of durable headphones for math. My previous DonorsChoose project for headphones did not receive enough funds which is why I am starting a new project. I am dividing my request into two DonorsChoose projects in hopes of getting funded quickly.
The headphones we currently have are falling apart and they break easily.
By the end of the school year, students have gone through several pairs. Durable working headphones are highly needed.
I have bought several pairs of headphones that are lower quality because that was what I could afford for these many students. Those headphones just did not last.
These headphones will help my students participate in online math programs and finance. They will also be used for I-Ready computer learning, a listening center, and to help students regulate when they just need a quiet space to cut down noise.
The majority of my students come from low-income households and are not able to afford basic school supplies. Asking families to provide their students with a durable pair is not feasible.
My wish is to be able to provide durable comfortable headphones that will last not only for my current students but for future students.
