This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This is a bright and active group of five and six-year-old children. They love to create and tell stories. They love to read and be read to. They are quickly learning to work together, which is a vital skill in our world. My children work in small groups and independently throughout the day. This helps them learn to focus and improve self-control issues. Small group activities that let us get up and move help our ADHD tendencies stay under control. We need real reasons to move and stretch.
We grow in all areas by practicing and playing together.
Writing throughout the day in science, social studies, math, and even in art helps us in so many ways. We get noisy, but we learn so much together. We need supplies to grow as readers, writers, and illustrators. We need to show the colors of our ideas. We need ways to be active and help us learn to control our ADHD tendencies. There is so much to learn.
My Project
STEAM is a vital trend to enhance all learning in ways that connect multiple subjects at once. In Kindergarten, we will use these materials to build and will journal our projects. We will connect Art by illustrating our structures. We will label what and who we work with.
Duplos are terrific resources.
The sets requested will allow us to activate our creations and include people and animals to our projects. The colors are inviting. The math concepts of equality, balance and patterns will be practiced and easily learned. The strategies needed to make building will be stumbled upon, then shared. Duplos will help my kindergarten with no preschool experiences to master skills that are so new.
Most of all, Duplos are fun. We will increase social skills by working together!
