My Project
This project combines the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons with urban planning to teach students about environmental impacts and sustainability through interactive learning. Students will role-play as adventurers tasked with designing eco-friendly cities in a fictional world, balancing environmental needs with population growth, resources, and infrastructure. Each class period will design its own eco-friendly city in this shared fictional world, where their cities’ decisions will impact one another. Students will navigate challenges like resource management, pollution, and energy while seeing how collaboration—or competition—affects the environment on a larger scale. This approach encourages critical thinking about interconnected systems and mirrors real-world environmental dynamics.
To make this lesson a reality, I need your help.
Your support will provide some of the terrain that will be needed as they recreate these cities. The 3D printer filament can be used so students can 3D print additional terrain that they identify. By contributing, you’ll help students connect fantasy to real-world applications, teaching them to collaborate, problem-solve, and think globally.
