My students are AP Physics2 students. They have a range of academic abilities some very high achieving student as well students with special needs, learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
My students have a keen interest in science and engineering, and are are curious about how things work.
They engage in many hands on inquiry based labs that enable them to identify relationships to develop models about how systems behave.
My Project
A key ingredient to any AP Physics class is scientific inquiry through lab work. These shared experiences give students insight into how physicists and engineers conduct research.
Hands-on inquiry based labs give students of color, students with special needs, and first time AP students shared experiences that level the playing field, provide greater access to course content which enables more success in the course overall.
These photoelectric effect lab kits will allow my students to understand the dual nature of light, provide insight into the mystery of the cosmos, and experience with a unique lab not often done at the high school level. This directly aligns with course goals, makes the content more relevant and accessible to all.
