Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students will be learning in Spanish in my classroom. They are a diverse group of students who are coming into first grade to continue their learning in a Dual Language program. The school is located in a high need in terms of economic, learning, and socio-emotional needs. The various backgrounds of students bring an amazing blend of culture to the classroom, but there are also challenges in providing them all the tools so they can succeed academically and socially.
My Project
This resources will help create an environment where students have access to understanding through the use of images and signs to access Spanish content. It will create an atmosphere that is kid friendly, welcoming, and comfortable for them to learn in. The rugs and pillows will give them comfort while they read and they will enjoy their reading time more.
All of these tools will serve my students in having a place for them to complete their learning.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
