Help me give my students items like bins so our classroom can be neat and all the toys will be accessible, plus totes, fadeless paper, a photo library, and LEGO set.
This is a Dual-Language classroom In Red Hook Brooklyn, NY. We teach children from diverse cultural backgrounds; we celebrate all cultures. We enjoy reading about our different backgrounds and customs, and we often share our different meals. We learn through non-fiction literature about animals and the world around us. We study penguins, polar bears, pigs, butterflies, caterpillars, dinosaurs and many others.
The children learn through play in different areas such as drama center, blocks and construction area, train stations, LEGO building, and floor puzzles.
We maintain a safe, healthy, loving environment where children thrive. We service children from the biggest inner-city housing complex in New York as well as surrounding neighborhoods. We want to offer the best classroom experience to all children regardless of socioeconomic or cultural backgrounds.
My Project
The children love to play with animals and LEGOS and we want to make sure we have enough for every child.
Pre-k children need an orderly classroom so they can learn how to choose their materials, learn how to clean up, and put everything back in its place for the next day!
We need the lakeshore bins to organize our many toys. The language cards are for reinforcing our dual-language curriculum. We need the backing paper because our classroom is blue and red. The blue bulletin board are for the work done during English and the red is for wok done during the spanish part of the day. We need the goggles for our construction area, since they pretend to build and fix houses and buildings.
Our children are inquisitive. Pre-k is a brand new world for them. They are already making friendships and getting used to school routines. Our children learn in two languages and we believe it is very important to be bilingual, bi-literate, and bi-cultural in our world.
