Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After 19 years of teaching in an all English school, I decided to transition to a dual language school where my Spanish language skills are seen as an asset. This is my second year teaching in a 50/50 model classroom. I just dove into this position without experience and I want to continue to embrace this positive and challenging opportunity.
I want to gain knowledge on legislation, research, pedagogy, and practice in dual language bilingual education so I can become an effective teacher and an advocate for dual language immersion education.
