My students need drying racks to dry our work in a safe and organized place.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The art room is the perfect place for all of my students to explore their creative side. I am very fortunate to be the art teacher in a very diverse school, where over thirty native languages are represented. I welcome the diversity as well as the rich mixture of my students in my classroom.
They say that art is the universal language.
I see over two-hundred 6th, 7th and 8th grade students a year. They love exploring everything from portraits and still life, to sculpture and painting. I try to create a positive atmosphere in my room for my students, and they rise to the occasion, being positive about their own work, and supportive of their classmates.
My Project
The students create artwork using tempera paint, acrylic paint, watercolor, print making with ink, and more. Right now, all of the art work is placed on the shelf under the windows. Classes get mixed up, projects get misplaced. They will use the drying rack as a place to put their artwork while it is still in progress or wet/gluey.
Organization in an art room that is shared with multiple classes and projects is the key to creative success.
With new drying racks, students will be able to keep their work safe and organized. Then, we will be able to focus more on creating art.
