My students need a drying rack to dry/store their paintings.
This project expired on March 12, 2011.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
As an art teacher I would like the opportunity to have my students work and experience many different mediums. At the moment painting is not an option due to lack of space.
I am a middle school art teacher to mainly 6th and 7th graders.
The students are required to take at least one year of art. We are an ethnically diverse, high needs school district. My students as a whole seem to be interested in art. For those students who are passionate about art, I run an art club as well.
At the moment paint is not a material I can use with my students, for I do not have any place for their work to dry. I see this as a disadvantage to my students, painting is a very important medium for students to use at any age. For many, painting helps the student express themselves more freely then a pencil. I would have the students work with watercolors, tempera paints, and acrylic paints.
Have a drying rack will enable all of my students to have the opportunity to paint.
Painting will expose my students to a new medium, but also provide them with a new creative outlet.
