it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students will start kindergarten in the fall, ready to embark their journey as readers and writers.
Writing starts with drawing and putting ideas down before writing down words or sentences.
The whiteboards are a great way to start practicing sketches, letters, numbers and more without being afraid of making mistakes or wasting paper. Students can keep trying to make their ideas come together. The markers and erasers will be used all year long and provide an excellent tool to practice before transitioning to other tools. There are enough markers for students to take home to practice their names, letters and numbers on a laminated mat.
Student will practice letter and number formation with the help of our Hand Writing Without Tears curriculum. We will also be practicing foundational skills and number sense daily on the whiteboards. The markers will be added to our writing table/center so students make the transition from whiteboards to paper by tracing with different colors letters and numbers. The carpet spots are numbers and letters for student to practice independently writing the letters and numbers in order in a fun and creative way.
