This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine an inspired painter who suddenly realizes that the image in his or her mind has to wait because their paints had dried up? Well because my students utilize their personal white boards across all subjects we go through many markers. It is our goal to have a supply readily available.
Our school population is 99% on the subsidized lunch program.
An item like dry erase makers are an expense not on top of the grocery list. My students are all unique and enjoy expressing themselves in many ways. Our charter school believes in the whole student and with that ideal it is up to teachers to find a means to getting the work done. I want my students to have every advantage where possible.
My Project
Using dry erase boards is an amazing tool that lets each student express themselves without worry and fear. My students regularly use the boards from math to science to spelling and artistic creativity. The boards will last a good long while, but markers dry up and need to be replaced often. With my campaign I can ensure every student will be covered for most of the year.
Knowing my students will have an ample supply of markers allows me to confidently use the dry erase boards to its full potential.
Having students using the boards is very important for their self discovery, to learn it is okay to make a mistake, because with a white board you can erase and try, try, again.
