Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom has 25 amazing first grade students. They are always ready to learn and happy to attend school every day. My first graders are energetic, loving, caring and hardworking. It is a class that is growing into becoming independent learners. They are learning many new skills this year, which include reading, writing and math.
I work in a Title I school that has many families who cannot afford to purchase supplies for their children.
All of my students qualify to receive free breakfast and lunch.
The students in my school face different challenges every day but the one thing that remains the same is my determination to give my students rewarding learning experiences. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, my priority right now is to make sure my students have what they need to further their learning.
My Project
My students are in need of dry erase markers and erasers to use with their whiteboards.
They use the dry erase markers and erasers everyday in school and during remote learning.
Unfortunately, the dry erase markers and erasers do not last long. We use these items during our Phonics, Reading, Writing and Math lessons.
Due to Covid, all students need their own markers and erasers. They are not allowed to share with each other. During remote learning, students having the dry erase markers and erasers will allow them to continue sharing their work.
