My Project
My classroom is a revolving door for small group instruction. Every 30 minutes a new group of students enter, ready for reading instruction. I work with the at-risk and students new to the country so an engaging, user friendly work space is a must. So much of our work can be completed on a dry erase surface and the arrangement of our work space should be fun and engaging. We currently have tables that are former computer lab tables...complete with the holes for cords.
Having independent work spaces with dry erase tops that can be rearranged will be a game changer for our reading instruction.
Students will be able to write their sounds, words, and dictation sentences on their own work area. No more wasting paper or dropping small boards that we can't fit all of our work on. Students will be able to move their own work space if they want independent time or combine their tables for group instruction.
