My Students
My current whiteboard is actually shower board from Home Depot. After many years of use, the finish has come off and it no longer erases. Now it's starting to curl and exposes the brick behind it. My students have less access to use the whiteboard because it no longer serves its purpose.
My students are bright teenagers who come from all over the city.
Our school is what most places call a magnet school. The students must pass a test to enter, and much is expected of them. Most of our students are on free or reduced cost lunch. We are a Title I school. All this means that our students are poor. We have a 100% college acceptance rate. But, sadly, we lack resources.
My Project
Like every other kid, they love to volunteer to write on the board and share their answers. By having access to a dry erase board and allowing them to share their work, I hope to continue to engage them and keep their interest in a language that is considered "dead".
With your generosity, I will be able to replace my old shower board that no longer works with new whiteboard.
Then my students will have more opportunities to share their work and teach the class
