This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students love to experience different styles of music through events and performances. We don't have the necessary funds to go to concerts that perform different styles of world music. Also, my students do not have opportunities to experience electronic sound and sound production using technology.
Help me give my students a way to experience different styles of music by providing a "live" concert feel with the drum set and an introduction to electronic sound production in our classroom.
Students will use the drum set to play along with different world music styles. The drum set will be used to show electronic sound and be hooked up to an app that will show how the sound input is used on the computer. Students will take turns playing the world music on the drum set and seeing their music in the app. This will be one epic music unit!
