My Students

My students want to drum more than anything! Drums are always the first request when my students are asked what instruments they would like to play. They beg to play drums and unfortunately there are not enough to go around and many of the drums we do have are falling apart.

I teach all grade levels in our elementary school.

From kindergarten to 5th grade they all share the same love for the drums. My students are such an inspiration to me by being so curious and excited to learn and I wish more than anything to provide them with all the tools possible to help their musical experience be the best it can possibly be.

My Project

If we are able to purchase drums for the classroom our students will be able to incorporate these instruments into most any activity. From learning rhythms and accompanying ourselves while singing and dancing, or understanding the historical and cultural relationship percussion instruments have with people from all over the world these drums can be a musical and also a very therapeutic tool for learning elementary music concepts.

Donating to this project will not only provide supplies for our music classroom but it will be providing an opportunity for students to excel outside of the general classroom.

This project will allow students to communicate their creativity through unspoken means and exercise educational skills that are good for the soul.
