Our students have the capacity to construct both vocal and instrumental music alongside their experiences in dance, stage construction, composition, art, and technology to engineer STEAM-level learning, akin to the requirements of the industry. As our show choir experience now tops 235 in registration, 160 in dance, with 30 stage tech students in training and 85 in our stage construction club, elements necessary for this program's success is now mandated to facilitate the student's whole learning experience.
Equipment needed for our show choirs will help facilitate this medium's intense physical rigor (dance, aerobic movement and motor development with its rhythmic qualities) and facilitate the pursuance of our community and school performances.
Our students now demand equipment suited for this age and style fitting their performance style to continue to support such a challenging program.
This request of an electronic drum kit, used by students and parent musicians alike, will make possible the live show/jazz environment that are our signature product, and give the classroom experience its full potential.
My Project
This unit will provide my students the equipment needed for the 235 show choir students on our campus, and will provide portability for their performances in the Houston area. Not only will this drum set be used in classroom teaching for advanced rhythmic development and music reading, but it will be used for performances necessary to continue our growing program.
The Texas Education Agency, with its required Music TEKS, requests us to facilitate live music accompaniment experiences for our students.
This unit will guarantee that we can retain the live experience, used alongside keyboard and other show band instruments necessary to provide our music.
