it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am continually inspired by the passion and energy my students bring to our music classroom. They are eager to learn and explore, and I want to provide them with every opportunity to succeed and grow as musicians. A drum set would be a transformative addition to our classroom, offering countless benefits to their musical education.
The drum set will give students hands-on experience with rhythm, one of the most fundamental aspects of music.
It will teach them about timing, coordination, and teamwork as they play in groups and learn to listen to one another. For students who may not connect as strongly with melodic instruments, the drum set offers an engaging and accessible way to participate and find their unique voice in music.
Having a drum set will also allow us to expand our repertoire and explore diverse musical styles, from jazz to rock to world music. This exposure will help students develop a deeper appreciation for different cultures and genres. Beyond musical skills, learning to play the drums builds focus, discipline, and confidence—skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
What makes my students special is their enthusiasm and potential. They are a diverse group with varied talents, and music brings them together in a powerful way. A drum set will elevate their learning experience, giving them an exciting tool to express themselves and collaborate creatively. With this addition, we can create a dynamic and inspiring music program that fosters their growth and celebrates their individuality.
