Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our band class is a growing community each year. We provide everything the students need to be successful so that there are no costs or fees passed on to families. This project is to replace a number of consumable needs such as reeds, cork grease, valve oil and drum stick bags. These are all necessary to the success of our students and program. The majority of my students live below the poverty line and would not be able to participate in the program if these essential items were not provided for them.
Our band is the heartbeat of our Kiltie Pride school wide!
While the music program showcases the success of our students, it does not come without its costs. Each year, we must replace these seemingly small needs and supplies so that students continue to be successful! As students progress and improve, they require stronger reeds. We have never had to budget for reeds at this strength in the past, but student improvement has made it necessary to purchase stronger reeds for their continued growth.
