Help me give my students nylon drum sticks so they can be active as a group, engage the entire body, elevate the heart rate and activate the brain by crossing the midline of the body.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a Title I school and this is only the second year that they have had a full time certified Physical Education Teacher. Most of my students are not involved in after school/weekend sport leagues or activities, therefore, I feel that they truly can gain a lot of lifelong fitness and health skills in our PE time together.
I love their enthusiasm and desire to be active, because so much is new to them, they have a fearless desire.
My Project
The plastic drumsticks specifically designed for fitness will provide my students and I an opportunity to integrate rhythm and music into the physical education classroom. In addition, every students will have a piece of equipment, so all will be engaged at the same time...with this grant I could have an entire grade level active all at one time.
It will directly relate to several state Physical Education Standards involving following a teacher in a rhythmic routine/dance, understanding heart rate increases, using our body weight to increase fitness, and crossing the mid-line to activate and engage both sides of the brain.
