My students come from Detroit and are working hard in the Honors classroom. My students are starting out in tough circumstances. Many of them live in places with minimal structure, and limited resources to help them lay down a foundation for success. In many instances, parents are working and leaving kids at the most important times of the day. In many other circumstances, there is only one parent, and this makes things even harder in guiding, and leading students on the right path. I set very high standards for my students, and they work hard to live up to them. Please help out in any way possible.
My Project
These 5 tablets will take the place of a CD player that I am currently using with limited books and tapes.Students have such a broad range of what they like as their interest and reading takes them to magical places. I love having Centers and the tablets will serve the perfect purpose with helping students grow their love of reading. I want the tablets to give independence to my students as they download and read their favorite authors. Seeing children evolve into lifelong readers is a wonderful thing to see and as a teacher is the most rewarding ever
