My Students

My group of second graders are eager to learn and grow, but we are in need of some help! My elementary school is located in a small rural area of our county. Many of my students come from a low socioeconomic status and struggle with learning. Very few are fortunate enough to have access to resources to help provide support for learning.

Because my school is a Title I school, our availability to such resources is very limited.

However, they do their very best to provide as much as possible. That's why I'm hoping that through this project, I can give my students new opportunities for learning.

My Project

Giving my students more chapter books in second grade will help to increase their interest, as well as, increase their opportunity in reading. Having books of their interest will help increase stamina by keeping them entertained during independent reading. These sets will also help to encourage my struggling readers by giving them a goal to strive towards. I would love to have the grammar books to help introduce content before teaching.

My students would love looking forward to hearing a book to introduce new topics!
