Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students work hard in our garden. Many times we do not have enough time to go to the water fountain to get a drink. With this project, my students will be able to have cold Gatorade and water to drink while working on planting the seeds for the garden.
It’s not only a variation for them to drink, but also a show of appreciation for all the hard work they put into helping.
My students will learn that their hard work does pay off. It may seem like a small gesture, but for these students, it’s much bigger. Many do not get told, much less shown, that they are appreciated. These will help show them they are.
The seeds will help them learn how to grow some of their own food. They have had some successful crops so far. We are in need of more seeds, however. They enjoy benefiting from their hard work by seeing the seeds grow into plants and being able to tend to them. These small activities leave lasting impressions on my students.
