My Students
I am proud to teach kindergarten in NYC. This year I want my students to have a library that is user friendly for four and five year-olds. A variety of storage bins in different colors and sizes as well as labels are the answer.
My students, their families and school are as dynamic as the surrounding neighborhood and thrive on the diversity of opportunities our school provides: enrichment classes, focus on the arts, farmers market, after school program, and much more.
I have the first sibling to enter school and the baby of the family whose older siblings check on them during recess and lunch. I love that my students are energetic, imaginative, and excited to learn.
My Project
Our classroom library nestles our meeting area and is a central place of daily life in kindergarten. Thanks to Donors Choose and the amazing people who fund projects my library is full of age appropriate reading treasures and leveled books for independent reading. Now I need to organize it in a way that is easy for kindergartens to browse titles, select books to read, and then put them back where they belong so they can be enjoyed again later.
